Description

Prokineticin-2(PK2)isacysteine-richsecretedproteinthatisexpressedinthetestisand,inlowerlevels,inthesmallintestine.PK2regulatesvariousBIOLOGicalfunctions,includinggastrointestinalmotility,angiogenesisandcircADIanrhythms.ItiscloselyrelatedtoEG-VEGF(Prokineticin-1),andbindstotwoorphanB-protein-coupledreceptorstermedPK-R1andPK-R2.RecombinantHumanProkineticin-2 isan8.8 kDaproteinconsistingof81 aminoacidresidues,includingtencysteineresiduesthatcanpotentiallyformfivepairsofintra-moleculardisulfide bonds.
