Recombinant
Description
IL-2 is a powerful immunoregulatory lymphokine produced by T-cells in response to antigenic or mitogenic stimulation. IL-2/IL-2R signaling is required for T-cell proliferation and other fundamental functions that are essential for the immune response. IL-2 stimulates growth and differentiation of B-cells, NK cells, lymphokine-activated killer cells, monocytes, macrophages and oligodendrocytes. Recombinant Human IL-2 is a 15.5 kDa protein, containing 134 amino acid residues including one intrachain disulfide bond.

Biological Activity
The ED 50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of murine CTLL-2 cells is ≤ 0.1 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of ≥ 1×10 7 units/mg.
Endotoxin
Endotoxin level is <0.1 ng/μg of protein (<1EU/μg).
Reconstitution
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in 100 mM Acetic Acid to a concentration of 0.1–1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2–8°C for up to 1 week. For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1%BSA) and store in working aliquots at –20°C to –80°C.
Storage/Expiration
